DESCRIPTION:
All are invited to experience the impactful artistry of Japanese taiko drumming with Sazanami 漣, a new ensemble led by Ann Arbor-based Taiko artist Mathew Jacqmin-Kramer with members from the Great Lakes Taiko performance collective.

In-person attendees will have a chance to engage in a meet-and-greet with the performers.

This Japanese taiko drumming performance, cosponsored by the School of Music, Theatre & Dance as well as the Thompson Center for Learning & Teaching at U-M Flint, is a feature of the U-M Fall 2023 Festival of Asian Music, which offers the public new perspectives on music traditions and adaptations from Japan, Korea, China, and South and Southeast Asia, and is made possible with the generous support of the U.S. Department of Education Title VI grant.
