…
See you at the watch party!
We invite you to Drum, Dance & Dream with us for a minute as we share highlights from our 2024 Michigan Bon Summer Festival, co-hosted by our Great Lakes Taiko Center (GLTC) Taiko Arts Collective and the Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research, which took place last August at the Cranbrook Japanese Garden in SE Michigan. #MIBON2024 was supported by grants from TCA, TaikoVentures, and the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, and made possible by the work and play of our collective members and local community partners.
While this COMMUNITY event celebrates the gift of Taiko and spirit of Bon Dance, it also exemplifies the POWER of the people in our communities when we gather to share with each other, the MINDFULNESS of our cultural traditions and practices to understand who we are, the TEAMWORK necessary to center collective care and play, and the CREATIVITY we bring to make the world we want to live in together!
