Farmington Community Library AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Heritage Month Celebration

Event location: Farmington Community Library (32737 W. 12 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48334)
Celebrate our AAPI community with amazing performances and colorful crafts. We would love to see families in saris/dhotis, kimonos, hakamas, hanfus - shine out in your best!
On the main floor, families can make a Chinese lantern, learn the art of Japanese origami, or create colorful rangoli art.
At 12:00 pm the Michigan Lion Dance team will put on a show-stopping performance in the foyer.
In the Auditorium, you can see these performances:
12:30 pm - A brief introduction to AAPI History from Richard Mui, President of the Association of Chinese Americans
1:00 pm - Japanese Taiko drumming from Raion Taiko ensemble of the Great Lakes Taiko Center
2:00 pm - Hula from Polynesian Dancers of Michigan
3:00 pm - Bhangra from Furteelay Dance
