GLTC members drum & dance in our MI Bon Summer Festival #MIBON2024 on SUN 8/11 at Cranbrook!
#MIBON2024 team members may be dropped off or load equipment in and out of the festival grounds at the Cranbrook Japanese Garden access drive (700 Cranbrook Rd, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304) before the gate is closed for pedestrian only traffic around 12:30pm. You may then park in the nearby lot (across the street) as instructed for event staff and vendors.
10:00am > ARRIVAL on site for all GLTC team members for equipment load-in and site setup
noon to 1pm > LUNCH HOUR (Bento Box from Sushi Kabar for all GLTC performers!)
12:45pm > CALL for all performers to meet at yagura!
1pm - OPENING of the festival as participants begin arriving
1:30 - 5:30 > PROGRAM for MI Bon Festival 2024:
1:30-2:00pm > Murasaki Shikibu - Prelude in the garden
2:00-2:45pm > GLTC Taiko Performance 1* (song list below)
3:00-4:00pm > MI Bon Dancing around the yagura (visit Bondance page)
4:00-4:45pm > GLTC Taiko Performance 2* (song list below)
5:00-5:30pm > Summer Song team - Postlude in the garden
5:30pm > CLOSING & CLEAN UP the site including load out of equipment

Dress Rehearsal in GYM @RSHS / Public Preview (3-5p) in Ann Arbor for #MIBON2024:
2:00pm Taiko Performers arrive to load-in, setup, walk through program*
3:00 - 5:00pm Taiko Performance for #MIBON2024 public preview followed by MI Bon Dance Workshop
5:00 - 6:00pm Small group practice (Summer Song) in GYM

*MI Bon Taiko Performers: Please bring/wear your assigned taiko equipment and MI Bon costume to the dress rehearsal. We will walk through the Taiko Performance set order as follows:

Imabetsu ARAMA Odori (with T3/BBK players in set #1; only Ash taiko in set #2 on 8/11)
DREAM by Yamada Mizue (A2 Taiko Players arrangement)
WANOICHI by Kaoly Asano (A2 Taiko Players arrangement)
GODAIKO by Yamada Mizue (Godaiko Drummers & Raion Taiko players)
MUSHI OKURI trad. Kaga region, Ishikawa Prefecture (ALL players invited to play/dance)
